Bookings For Long Range Nexon EV Initiated By Tata Motors
The domestic carmaker Tata Motors has unofficially started receiving the bookings for its upgraded version of Nexon EV. The long-range version of the compact SUV Nexon EV is slated for launch on May 11, 2022. According to reports, the bookings of the upcoming SUV are initiated in the selected dealerships across the country. In its new version, the Nexon EV will come with an upgraded battery pack of 40kWh battery followed by a powerful electric motor generating the power of 136 PS.
According to reports, the 2022 Nexon EV will deliver an improved and ARAI-approved range of 400 km. The existing Nexon EV receives the power from a 30.2 kWh battery that generates the power of 129 PS and a torque of 245 Nm. Industry experts believe that based on the claims made by ARAI, the new Nexon EV will deliver an average of almost 300 km on a single charge.
Speaking about the features that will be offered in the 2022 Nexon EV, it will receive the same air purifier as available in the Kaziranga Edition of the standard Nexon EV, ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming IRVM. It is believed to receive the features like cruise control, Electronic Stability Program, a park mode, a seven-inch touchscreen system, rear disc brakes, a sunroof, connected car technology, a new alloy wheel design, and updated upholstery. It will continue to receive the same black and beige colour treatment inside the cabin.
It is also expected to receive the regen modes. The presence of regen modes facilitates the drivers to adjust the working efficiency of the regenerative brakes. This helps in offering an improved range. It is also likely to receive the features like upgraded safety features and various driving modes.
As far as the cost of the new Nexon EV is concerned it will be more expensive than its existing version and may be priced in the range of Rs 14.54 lakh to Rs 17.15 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). As the company will continue selling the existing Nexon EV, the availability of the 2022 Nexon EV will offer them an option to select between the two.
