Buying Tata Nexon Gets Costlier
Domestic carmaker Tata Motors has hiked the price of compact SUV Nexon with an immediate effect across the country. According to reports, the buyers will now have to pay a maximum of up to Rs 11,000 on purchasing the new Nexon according to the variant. With the current price hike, the price of Nexon now starts from Rs 7.30 lakh for the base variant and go high up to Rs 13.35 lakh for the top-end variant. Both the prices are ex-showroom prices.
The maximum hike of Rs 11,000 has been introduced on the diesel XZA+ (O) Dark Edition. The company has, however, not hiked the prices of XZ+ variants in both petrol and diesel trims. The prices of variants XZA+ Dark Editions and diesel XM(S) also remain unchanged. The company has already discontinued the XMA, XZ, and XZA+ (S) recently, and introduced the XM trim to bridge the gap.
Under the hood, the Tata Nexon is offered two engine options of a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine and a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. The diesel variant generates the power of 110 hp, whereas the petrol develops the power of 120 hp. The transmission duties are performed by a six-speed manual transmission system as standard in both the trims, followed by an option a six-speed automatic transmission system.
The compact SUV was launched back in 2017, and in September 2021 it was recognized as one of the best selling compact SUVs in the Indian car market. In September 2021, it recorded sales of 9,211 units.
