Car makers expect car buying spree during Diwali to improve sales

Car makers are now depending on the upcoming festive season to recoup the sales and in order to achieve a positive sales growth trend this year. Where Maruti India is expected to recoup the sales loss to the Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire this Diwali. Other car makers such as Chevrolet, Ford and others are too keen about the upcoming festive season and for this they have also planned new car launches this Diwali to woo the car buyers. Where Chevrolet will be launching the Sail UVA hatchback, Ford will be launching the Ford Ecosport SUV in order to bring back the enthusiasm to the car sales in India. Which car maker will be the winner this Diwali is uncertain.

Car sales in the country will be getting a spur starting the Navratra next month and the Diwali on November 13. Number wise, it will be Mahindra that will be launching five cars. The launch spree will be starting with the Mahindra Quanto this month and the Mahindra Reva NXR, Mahindra Verito CS, Mahindra Ssangyong Rexton and Mahindra Ssangyong Korando besides a small car by Mahindra is also rumored to be launched soon. Maruti could be launching the Maruti XA Alpha earlier than expected apart from the Maruti Alto Diesel and the most sensational new Maruti 800.

Meanwhile, other car makers such as Renault have already set in their line up. Renault has launched the Renault Scala sedan starting at Rs 6.99 lakh yesterday. It is quite possible that Honda will launch the Honda Brio Automatic and the diesel avatar of its cars in the country this Diwali. Tata Motors on the other hand will be launching the Tata Safari Storme SUV which is based on the Tat Aria SUV’s platform. Tata Nano CNG and Tata Nano Diesel could also come as a surprise. Hyundai Motors is expected to launch the diesel avatar of some of its cars such as the Hyundai i10 and Hyundai Eon as well if it wants to sweep small car sales to its side.
