Charging Tata Nexon EV Costs Rs 1 Per Km According To A Vlogger
The compact SUV Tata Nexon EV is one of the best selling compact SUVs in the country and dominates the electric car segment. However, there are various questions in minds of people buying an electric vehicle. The main question is the cost of charging the compact SUV. Because, nowadays, when the prices of electricity are hiking at a jetdynamic speed, knowing the cost of charging an EV will let them compare the expenses between petrol and diesel vehicles. Interestingly, recently a Tata Nexon EV owner has shared a video revealing the cost of charging the EV Nexon.

In the video, the vlogger is driving in the vehicle with his friend. During the drive, he asks his friend to guess the electricity bill he pays for charging the SUV. As his friend could not answer the question, he reveals that he pays about Rs 2,900 per month as his electricity bill. Well, before you make any assumptions, this bill includes the charging and the consumption of multiple electric appliances used at home like an air conditioner, fans, fridge, daily lights, microwave, etc. the vlogger owns the Dark Editon of Nexon EV and has travelled more than 2,800 kilometres so far.
He doesn’t disclose the electricity bill amount he used to pay before buying the Nexon EV, therefore it is a little bit difficult to compare both the bills. However, after calculating the number of units consumed while using various electric home appliances at home, he calculates that the cost of charging the Nexon EV costs around Rs 1 per km. This result is grabbing the attention of viewers.
The Nexon EV receives the power from a 30.2kWh battery pack and offers an ARAI approved range of 312 km on a single charge. This motor generates the power of 129 PS and a torque of 245 Nm. According to recent reports, the domestic carmaker is working on bringing the upgraded version Nexon EV that will receive the power from a 40 kW battery.
