Chevrolet cars in India to see price hike by up to Rs 10000 from June
General Motors India Limited, owner of Chevrolet cars, will increase the prices of entire range of Chevrolet cars in India by up to Rs 10,000 from first week of next month. The company has announced that they will hike car prices very soon in addition to offset the raise in logistic costs following increase in diesel prices. At present the company includes entry level hatchback Chevrolet Spark to luxury SUV Chevrolet Captiva in its stable which now will see a price hike from first week of June 2013.
The country's oil companies have already announced to increase diesel prices by up to 50 paisa per litre every month. In this month, prices of diesel were increased by Rs 1.02 per litre. Thus, to offset the increase in logistic costs the company is enhancing Chevrolet Cars' prices. It is expected prices hike by GM India would be followed by another carmakers of the country.
At present, Chevrolet's small car Spark is available between Rs 3.31 lakh to Rs 4.15 lakh while the Beat is being offered between Rs 3.88 lakh to Rs 5.97 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). The newly launched Sail U-VA is available at starting price of Rs 4.19 lakh and the top-end variant goes to Rs 6.69 lakh, while the Sail sedan comes between Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 7.52 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi). Recently launched MPV Chevrolet Enjoy is available between Rs 5.49 lakh to Rs 8 lakh, while the MUV Tavera is being offered between Rs 6.88 lakh to Rs 10.84 lakh. Chevrolet's premium sedan Cruze is priced between Rs 13.98 lakh to Rs 16.08 lakh, while price of luxury SUV Captiva starts at Rs 24.6 lakh.
