Chevrolet cars price hiked up to Rs 20000
Bad news for General Motors’ fans! The car maker has officially announced that it will raise the prices of its whole range of cars by up to a whopping Rs. 20000, which would come into effect from 8th of October 2012. This step is taken as it appears to cut down the impact of the unpleasant currency movement and the elevated input prices. General Motors India has been deeply impacted with the rupee value fluctuation and the transportation and input costs have been increased as well. Therefore, the company came up to a single decision and decided to raise 1 to 2% of prices of its car models.
GM India has an amazing portfolio. the entry level compact car, Chevrolet Spark is currently available in the Indian car market with a price tag of Rs. 3.15 lakh, while the premium and lavish SUV, Chevrolet Captiva has a price tag of Rs. 24.81 lakh. All the prices will be raised to 1-2%, which might be a problem for the aspiring GM car consumers.

However, on the other hand, other car manufacturers, like Honda, Audi, Renault and Maruti Suzuki have also increased the prices of their vehicle due to the same currency value fluctuation and intensifying input costs. India’s largest carmaker, Maruti increased the prices of all its models by up to Rs. 5250, while Honda India raised prices of Honda Jazz, Honda City and Honda Brio by up to 2.6%.
