Chevrolet Sail UVA, Sail sedan and newly launch Enjoy MPV to rev up GM car sales in India

One after the other highly lucrative offerings in the form of Chevrolet Sail UVA, Chevrolet Sail sedan and now Chevrolet Enjoy, GM India is all set to attain high sale growth this year. The American car maker hopes to attain over one lakh car sales this year after it had to contend with only 92k units sales in 2012. Other favorable factors that might help the car maker in attaining its target include sales of Beat Diesel in the small car segment and Tavera in the MPV segment. In 2011, GM India sold over 1.1 lakh units. It is believed that with the slash in petrol prices, the situation in the market will improve and soon the small car market will recover.

Apart from this, the Sail sisters – Sail UVA and Sail sedan are doing exceptionally well and are giving some tough time to Maruti Swift and Maruti Swift Dzire respectively in the recent time. Now that the Enjoy MPV is in and at a much affordable price than its segment leader Maruti Ertiga, it is believed that the taxi and tour segment buyers will be buying it in huge numbers. Also with the launch of these three new cars by Chevrolet in the past one year have strengthened its presence in the premium hatchback, entry level sedan and MPV segments.

Notably, the Tavera is already gaining high momentum after the car maker launched its Neo3 version last year. Apart from this Chevrolet Spark has also picked some quick volumes after its facelift. In addition to this, it is also said that GM will also be pitching in new cars in the compact SUV segment that is hot these days and still lacks any representation by the car maker. With the current models in place and the road ahead, achieving over 1 lakh unit car sales is not at all difficult for the car maker.
