Chevrolet Sonic acclaimed best subcompact car: Survey

Small is beautiful and especially when the economy is in tantrums. Chevrolet Sonic has come up as the top subcompact car in US as per the 2012 J D Power and Associates Appeal survey. The car has bagged the title for its outstanding rating by the customers with respect to the overall impression and the experiences. Though the car has no plans of being launched in India but it the American car maker could think of bringing it to India as well. However, the car maker is currently busy with the launch of Chevrolet Sail UV-A and Chevrolet Sail sedan in India.

Chevrolet Sonic is one of the compact cars that is well known in US for its peppy nature and outstanding fuel economy. It is also considered as an affordable car with low maintenance inputs. The success in the recent survey is primarily due to the overall sentiment of the market. The survey also revealed that over 27 percent of the new car buyers preferred a smaller car than a big sized sedan or SUV. The survey spanned to fourth months recently and had surveyed a large number of car buyers and their car buying patterns. However, over 13 percent of car buyers preferred a larger car.

Meanwhile, the reason behind people preferring a small car over the bigger sedans is that they get all the features inside a hatchback and that too at a lower price than a sedan or SUV. In the survey, car brands Porsche, Jaguar and BMW were acclaimed as the most trusted brand. Notably, Suzuki which is a partner of Maruti India was among the lowest ranked ones. India has always been a heaven for small cars but as per the recent trend, the sedans and SUV have also shown considerable buying apart from MPV with the launch of Maruti Ertiga.
