Chevrolet to launch Beat Activ and Essentia sometimes during next year
General Motors India Limited, the Indian arm of U.S. based car maker showcased its new compact sedan Essentia and Beat Activ concept during the recently concluded Indian Auto Expo 2016. It is reported that Essentia is developed on the same platform which has been used for developing the Beat hatchback whereas the Beat Activ has been claimed as an advanced version of existing Beat hatchback. It is now reported that both these cars will make their debut in Indian car market sometimes during 2017. According to company sources the designs of both these cars are developed at GM Korea Design Studio to develop it strictly according to driving preferences of Indian buyers.
Chevrolet Essentia being showcased during Indian Auto Expo 2016:
According to reports Beat Essentia will receive the same baton as offered in Sail and will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants which will be empowered with 1.2 litre STEC II petrol engine boosting the power 77 bhp and torque of 107 Nm, the diesel will be enriched with 1.0 L XSDE engine generating the power of 5 bhp and torque of 142.5 Nm.

On the other side the Beat Active will embellish looks similar to some SUV and is speculated to be a cost effective crossover available in Indian car market after launch. The impressive features that would be offered in Beat Active will include LED headlights and fog lamps, skid plate and black coloured plastic claddings on front bumper. Inside the cabin it will carry 7 inch MyLink infotainment system and an instrument cluster resembling to some motor cycle.
