The French carmaker Citroen has launched its second initiative the C3 hatchback in the Indian car market with a starting price of Rs 5.71 lakh for the base variant. The top-end variant is priced is 8.05 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom prices. The company has already initiated the bookings of a new hatchback in India at the down payment of Rs 21,000. After its launch in the Indian car market, the hatchback will go against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Tata Punch, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.

 

 

Under the hood, the C3 receives two engine options of 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The former engine develops a power of 82 PS and a torque of 115Nm. It is mated with a five-speed manual gear-transmission system. The latter generates a power of 110 Ps and a torque of 190 Nm. The transmission duties in this trim are performed by a six-speed manual gearbox transmission system. It is reported to deliver an ARAI-approved average of 19.8 kmpl and 19.4 kmpl respectively.

 

The French car maker has developed the C3 on the Common Modular Platform (CMP). According to reports, the company will develop its upcoming products on the same platform. All these vehicles will carry the features like black plastic cladding, skid plates, roof rails, and a few more. As far as the exterior features on C3 are concerned it will come equipped with dual DRLs, a dual-colour scheme, split-LED headlamps, a signature chrome grille, black cladding and wheel arches.

 

Inside the cabin, it receives features like a ten-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless connectivity with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It also gets the feature of USB chargers for the front seat and rear seat passengers, a manual air conditioner, and a height-adjustable seat for drivers. Along with all these features it is also equipped with a three-accessory package, seventy accessories, and 54 customisable options.
