Citroen To Unleash First Car From Its Bag On April 3, 2019!!!

According to the recent industry reports French carmaker PSA Group will unleash the covers from its first proposed vehicle in the Indian car market on April 3, 2019, and the launch the same after two years in 2021. The news regarding this is confirmed by the company’s official resources. It is believed that the first vehicle to step in the Indian car market by the French group would C5 Aircross SUV to compete against Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, Honda CR-V, and MG Hector. The compact SUV has been caught undergoing the test drives on several occasions.

It is reported that with an objective to strengthen roots in the Indian car market, the French group intends to introduce one new vehicle every year in India. The vehicles launched by the group will be developed strictly according to the requirements of the Indian driving conditions and regulations. In the words of Linda Jackson, CEO, Citroen Cars, “comfort, robustness, and value for money will be the core focus areas for Citroen as a brand in India”. To step in the Indian car market, PAS Group has joined the hands with Birla Group, which earlier used to manufacturer Ambassador brand of cars in India.

Well, talking about C5 Aircross SUV, it will be offered with two engine options in both the petrol and diesel variants. The buyers preferring to buy petrol variant will have an option of selecting from turbocharged 1.2 litre and 1.6 litre engines, while the diesel with 1.5 litre and 2.0 litre engines. All the trims will be mated with six-speed manual gearbox as standard gear transmission system followed by an option of eight-speed automatic gear transmission system. The SUV is believed to be developed according to BSVI norms.
