Datsun’s small car to arrive next year!
Everyone is well aware that Nissan is all set to introduce its Datsun car brand in India. With India, Datsun will also step foot in car markets like Indonesia, South Africa and Russia. The Datsun Small car codenamed K2 will be based on Nissan Micra platform, but will be much more simplified than Micra hatchback. This low cost car brand will bring in such a small car that would give a tough competition to cars like Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon, Ford Figo, Hyundai i10, Hyundai i20 and more. The pricing strategy is yet to be decided for this, but apparently, the car price will land around Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 4.5 lakh. Nissan will unveil the car at the 2014 Auto Expo that will take place in New Delhi next year.
Besides the Datsun Small Car, the car maker might also launch an A-segment hatchback, which would be a bit higher than the small car by Datsun and will be a bit costlier than that. The overall design of the Datsun small car will be speaking more of quality than of quantity. The new Datsun K2 will feature ample of space on the inside and will offer sufficient legroom and headroom for all occupants. Keeping the car in a lower price bracket, Nissan is doing its best not make K2 cheap looking but in place providing it top notch quality materials.
Nissan India is doing its homework right and trying to provide Datsun the platform and networking, which would allow it to carve its own identity in the Indian car bazaar. We hope that all these things work for the firm correctly and make a clear way for Datsun K2. Apparently, apart from K2, Nissan is planning to bring Nissan Sylphy Sedan to India as well.
