Details Of Compact SUV Toyota Raize Emerge Online Before Launch
Prior to its launch during the first week of November this year, images of upcoming compact SUV Toyota Raize have leaked online ahead of its launch. Under the hood, the Raize carries most of its looks on both the exterior and interior fronts, including the engine from Daihatsu Rocky, that was showcased during the Tokyo Motor Show held earlier this month. However, there are lots of changes on exterior front which makes it look quite distinct from the Daihatsu Rocky. On front fascia the Raize receives Toyota’s signature large trapezoidal grille with mesh inserts making it look identical to RAV4 SUV. The front grille also receives the Toyota Logo. The Raize also receives LED DRLs, horizontal LED strip placed above the fog lamps, circular housing for fog lamps and many more.

Under the hood, it is reported to receive 1.0 litre three-cylinder, 12-valve turbo-petrol engine that is tuned to deliver the power of 98 PS at 6,000 rpm and the torque of 140.2 Nm at rpm varying between 2,400 and 4,000. The transmission duties will be performed by CVT transmission system which would be further offered with an option of six speed manual gear transmission system. On the interior front it receives the same treatment as showcased in Daihatsu Rocky including eight inch touchscreen infotainment system, thin hexagonal vents for air conditioner, buttons to control the interior temperature. Along with this it also receives three-spoke steering wheel which is again inspired from Rocky.
Moving back to the exterior front it receives the features inspired from the Daihatsu Rocky. This include headlamps, 17 inch alloy wheels with different look but carries the same size as offered in Daihatsu Rocky. The front fascia carries the same appearance as offered in the traditional SUVs. Developed on the Toyota’s low-cost Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform the Raize has been developed mainly for the new emerging markets.
