It is for the first time that the details of Corolla Cross by the Japanese carmaker Toyota Motors have leaked online. According to sources codenamed as 740B, the Corolla Cross would be developed on the TNGA platform that is also used in Corolla sedan. The SUV will bridge the gap between RAV4 and Yaris Cross, in the international market and will be launched by the end of this year or the beginning of the new year.

 

 

According to images surfaced online the front fascia of Corolla Cross SUV will be identical to Corolla sedan and continues to receive the slim, J-shaped bi-beam LED headlamps mounted on fenders placed at the front bumper and a wide honeycomb black garnished grille. The front fascia also receives LED DRLS and the black colored bumper with round-shaped body-colored ORVMs.

 

Under the hood, it is speculated to be offered with two engine options of 1.8-liter petrol and 2.0-liter flex-fuel, which will be similar to the engine offered in the global version of Corolla sedan. Speaking about the looks of Toyota Corolla Cross, according to images revealed online it can be said that it carries the looks of both Corolla sedan and the RAV4 SUV merged in a unit. Where the front fascia looks similar to the former, the side profile looks almost looks similar to the latter. 

Besides, these features, the silver roof rails, the black cladding placed across the SUV, the exhaust pipes, black rear bumper, and a few are outsourced directly from RAV4.

 

In India, it is believed to make its debut this during August 2020 and christened as Toyota Urban Cruiser empowered with the petrol-hybrid engine, mated with the option of both manual and automatic transmission systems.
