Announcing the cancelation of the show, the organizers said the venue of the show will be used as a temporary field hospital and will be established in collaboration with Federal Emergency Management Agency. According to the sources, the show will be now organized in June 2021.

This announcement has extended the date of this oldest Motor Show to almost two and half-years ahead of its actual scheduled timing during January. The last show was held in January 2019. The show provides a robust platform to the automakers for displaying their conceptual vehicles followed by the launches of the new ones.

Going through the threat of this virus, the US government has asked all the automobile manufacturers to shut down their production activities for a few weeks.
It is also reported that the New York Auto Show, which was scheduled to be held in April this year has been also shifted till August 2020. The Javits Convention Center in Manhattan, the venue of the show is reported to be used as a temporary hospital to treat the patients of coronavirus.
