Electric Cars Under 15 Lakh Ready For Launch In India
With the domestic car maker Tata Motors dominating the electric car segment in India, 2022 has been an encouraging year for electric car manufacturers. This year also, the Indian car market will witness the launch of new electric cars. Some of these cars have the potential to dominate the market with their performance and affordable price. Tata Punch Electronic: The launch of electric Nexon electric was a game changer for the homegrown car maker Tata Motors. With the electric Tiago and Tigor, the carmaker dominates almost 80% of the electric car segment in India. Now the carmaker is all set to launch the electric version of its micro SUV Punch in the Indian car market. According to reports, the company will unveil the electric Punch during the Indian Auto Expo 2023. Under the hood, the Punch Electric will receive the option of two battery packs including a 26 kWh and a 30.2 kWh battery outsourced from electronic Tiago and Nexon respectively. It will be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh.
MG Air EV: After the successful launch of the compact SUV ZS EV, the British carmaker MG Motors is all set to unveil its smallest compact city electric car Air in India. It is reported, that the company will unveil its prototype at the Indian Auto Expo 2023. It will be priced in the range of Rs 15 lakh and made available with a power train ranging from 20 kWh to 25 kWh. It will generate a power of 40 bhp and deliver an average of 150 km on a single charge. It will be developed on the company’s new Global Smart Electric Vehicles (GSEV) platform.
Citroen EC3: According to reports, the French carmaker is going to unveil the electric hatchback C3 in the Indian car market sometime during this month. Identically the E C3 carries the same looks as its petrol version. Mechanically it will receive the power from a 30.2 kWh battery pack and develop the power of 84 bhp. It will embellish the features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless connectivity, electronic ORVMs, a digital instrument cluster, height adjustable driver’s seat and a few more. It will deliver an average ranging from 200 to 250 km on a single charge.
