Electric Compact SUV Mercedes-Benz EQB To Be Manufactured In Hungary

German luxurious carmaker Mercedes-Benz, also known as Daimler is reported to start the manufacturing of its fully-electric compact SUV EQB in Hungary from the fourth quarter of the next year. According to reports, the German carmaker is going to make an investment of more than 100 million Euro ($122 million) in Hungary for establishing its manufacturing plant. It would be interesting to know that the economy of Hungary is mainly dependent on the contribution made by the luxurious carmakers of Germany like Daimler, Audi, and BMW. All these companies have their production units located in Hungary.

Commenting on his Facebook page for the investment made by the German carmaker Mr Peter Szijjarto, Hungarian Foreign Minister said, “that the government had contributed 15 billion forints ($52 million) to the investment to secure the 4,400 jobs Daimler has filled in the central Hungarian town of Kecskemet”.
On the other side, another German carmaker BMW said that the construction of a new manufacturing plant developed by the company in Debrecen will take some time due to the impacts of global pandemic COVID-19. It would be interesting to know that BMW has also its eyes on developing the fully electric vehicles in the country.
 
According to the experts, the major role in the decline of the economy is most of the countries in the European region has been the decline in the auto industry because of the COVID-19. It would be interesting to know that most of the batteries manufacturers for electric vehicles have located their manufacturing units in Hungary. Thus, making Hungary the hub of electric vehicles battery supplier in the world.
