Facelift Skoda Rapid Offered with Price Tag of Rs. 8.27 lakh
Czech car maker Skoda has launched the facelift version of its luxurious sedan Rapid in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 8.27 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). The facelift version of Skoda is the first mid-life facelift introduced in this sedan after its launch back in 2011. Facelift Skoda Rapid has been launched in both petrol and diesel disguises with price of diesel variant starting from Rs. 9.48 lakh and going high up-to Rs. 12.67 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi).
The Skoda Rapid 2016 is developed on new “Crystalline” design philosophy and carries most of its cues similar to facelift versions of its siblings Superb and Skoda Octavia. As an impact of new design philosophy the refreshed Rapid looks more dynamic and aggressive as compared to its outgoing version. Under bonnet the Skoda Rapid 2016 continues the existing engine configuration of 1.6 litre MPI four cylinder petrol engine boosting the power of 103 bhp and offered with transmission option of five speed manual gearbox and six speed tiptronic transmission system. The diesel trim is empowered with 1.5 litre TDI diesel engine that churns the power of 108 bhp and torque of 250Nm. This engine configuration is mated with five speed manual and seven speed DSG automatic transmission system. The diesel engine introduced in new Rapid is same engine as offered in EA 189 series.
On exterior of new Skoda Rapid you will witness the resemblance of generation first Skoda Superb with groomed bumper followed by black cladding and trapezoidal fog lamps. Apart from these changes, the new Rapid receives subtle changes on rear and side profile of exterior. On the interior it receives some remarkable contemporary changes in form of new features like automatic headlamps, MirrorLinkTouchscreen infotainment system supporting connectivity with AUX, USB and Bluetooth, cruise control, automatic climate control and few more. The safety features include integration of ABS and dual front airbags are standard feature.
