Facelift Skoda Yeti launching on September 10, 2014
Czech car maker Skoda Motors is again going try its luck on Yeti SUV which till now has not succeeded in enjoying the success expected by it. Following the trend of launching facelift version of existing vehicles by all car maker, Czech car maker is also going to launch the facelift version of Yeti in Indian car market on September 10, 2014. The facelift version is already being sold out in European car market since last year and is offered in two variants Outdoor and Style. Skoda India, the Indian alliance of car maker had showcased the Outdoor version of Yeti at the Indian auto expo 2014 and it is expected that the same version of Yeti facelift would be launched in Indian car market. The new Yeti is expected to sport more aggressive and dynamic look as compared to outgoing version of Yeti.
Under the bonnet facelift Yeti will sport 2.0 litre four cylinder diesel engine which will generate two power tunes of 110 PS and 140 PS. The engine generating power of 110 PS will generate the torque of 250 Nm and will be coated to five speed manual gearbox. The engine generating the next power tune of 140 PS will develop the torque of 320Nm and will be mated to six speed manual gearbox that will forward the power to both front and rear wheels. The major changes that will adorned on facelift Yeti would be carried on the exteriors which will include changes in bumpers, new front grille and headlights. Inside the cabin it will receive adjustable driver seat, and cruise control. It is also expected that the Indian version alike European version may also get rear view camera.
As far as the price of new facelift Yeti is concerned nothing has been so far revealed by the company sources but it is speculated that the facelift Yeti would be priced over the price of existing version of Yeti. After launch the facelift Yeti will compete against Nissan Terrano, Mahindra SUV 500 and Duster from Renault. The price might be a factor which Indian buyers could consider before buying the facelift Yeti as at present on Koleos from Renault is being offered with the same price tag.
