Few Cars are performing good even in slowdown
The Indian car market has been facing a slow down for the past few months now. The sales have been going down consistently and the companies are cutting production. However, there are some exceptions to this situation. Some cars still enjoying huge demands, and the demands are so much that the companies have been forced to stop the bookings.
Hyundai Verna Fluidic is one of those cars. It was launched in the month of May and has, since then, enjoyed demands higher than what Hyundai could deal with. The Diesel variant of Hyundai Verna Fluidic has been in more demand than the petrol variant, due to the rising petrol prices.
Hyundai's manufacturing capacity for Verna Fluidic is 4,000 units per month, but it is still having a hard time to meet-up with the current demand in the market. Hyundai India's Director for Marketing and Sales Department, Arvind Saxena, said, that the dealers have been asked to stop taking bookings for Verna Fluidic, because the waiting period has increased. According to him, the waiting period is varying between one to eight months, depending on the different variants of the car. The current to be made supplies number has gone up to over 20,000 units.
The other company enjoying high demands is Toyota. The world number one automobile company in terms of sales figures, is facing difficulty in supplying and meeting up with demands for its two cars- Toyota Innova and Toyota Corolla Altis. The demands for diesel variants of Toyota Innova and Toyota Corolla Altis, is higher and the buyers are facing waiting period of four and two months respectively. The Deputy Managing Director of Toyota, Sandeep Singh, said that the company has had no effect of the slow down in Indian car market, and the demand for Toyota's cars is intact.
