Few More Details Of Kia Seltos Emerge Ahead Of Launch On August 22, 2019

Compact SUV Seltos from the Korean car maker Kia has been in the limelight from the  last few months and the company is not going to leave any stone unturned in making it a big hit. The compact SUV is slated for launch on August 22, 2019, but prior to this the second largest car making company of Korea is going to organize a test drive for media persons on August 9, 2019. Recently, some new details about the compact SUV have emerged online revealing some new features of the vehicle that was showcased as SP2i concept during the Indian Auto Expo 2018.

According to the new reports the Seltos will be offered with an option of 8 monotone and 5 dual tone color options. It will drive on 16 inch steel wheels and 17 inch alloy wheels depending upon the variant preferred by the buyers. The buyers will be offered with the option of selecting from the two variant lines namely HTE, HTK and HTX and GTE, GTK and GTX. The former variant line will be empowered with 1.5 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engine configuration, whereas the later variant line will be energized with 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine. The 1.4 litre turbo petrol engine is developed on Hyundai’s “Smartstream technology” that will be used in the future by both these carmakers.
 
Dimensionally, the Kia Seltos will have the length of 4,315mm, width of 1,800mm and height of 1,620mm. The Indian version will be offered with dual horn, specific clutch force reduction and heavy duty AC. The transmission duties will be performed by six speed manual gear transmission system followed by an option of six speed auto box and seven speed DCT gearbox. Along with this there will be an option of CVT transmission system. The variant with six speed manual transmission system will deliver an average of 16.5 kmpl, the CVT will deliver an average of 16.8 kmpl whereas the 1.4 litre turbo engine with manual transmission will deliver an average of 16.1 kmpl, while the variant with DCT gearbox will offer an average of 16.5 kmpl. The diesel variants in MT and CVT transmission system are reported to deliver an average of 21 kmpl and 18 kmpl.
