Fiat Linea Classic: Is it discontinued?

Fiat India the Indian arm of Italian car maker Fiat had launched the low priced Linea Classic last year in September just before launching the new Avatar of Linea recently in Indian car market. It is now rumored that company has silently discontinued the Classic version of Linea. This was even confirmed by authentic sources who recently visited the company’s official website. According to them while visiting company’s website name of Linea is not mentioned anywhere on the website, however while visiting the page of vehicles although the name of Classic is mentioned but its price section has been left blank.

The Classic version of Fiat Linea was offered in both petrol and diesel versions with petrol enriched by 1.4 litre petrol engine and diesel with 1.3 litre diesel engine. Moving ahead with an objective to keep the cost low company had taken out some features for instance airbags, alloy wheels, automatic climate control, chrome accents. With this inside the cabin it eliminated the dual tone interior configuration and offered the dashboard of classic sedan with black colored treatment.

The rumors regarding rolling out the Linea Classic from its line up by Italian car maker is not less than a shock for industry experts, especially in the scenario when company witnessed growth in its sales especially the new Linea succeeded in attracting customers towards itself. It now seems encouraged from the positive response received by New Linea company intends to mainly focus on this version of Linea. On the other side Classic was finding it difficult to compete against the existing classic sedans in Indian car market.
