Fiat opens a new dealership in Noida, readying Jeep and Abarth for India
Fiat seems to have started doing the groundwork for the launch of new cars as well as its brands such as the Jeep and Abarth in India. After deciding to go on with a solo journey, the Italian car brand severed its ties with Tata Motors India and since then it is heading for creating an identity of its own. In this attempt, it has planned new cars, new independent showrooms and its separate sales and service channel in the country. In this continuance, Fiat has inaugurated an exclusive dealership in Noida. At this over 4000 sq feet showroom, it will be showcasing Fiat Linea and Fiat Punto cars. The new dealership is in the Phase II area of Noida and is named as Kashyap Fiat.

While inaugurating the new facility, Mr. Enrico Atanasio, MD of FIAT Group, told reporters that the new dealership is hoped to improve customer base and will enhance customer experience. Notably, Fiat plans to open Fiat Café as well as its independent showrooms across the country besides introduction of the Jeep and Abarth brand in India. It is said that the Jeep Wranger and Jeep Grand Cherokee will be launched in India this year and this will suddenly enhance the prospects to the till now not-so-hectic brand. Year 2012 has seen some action with the launch of Fiat Punto Sport while this year will witness new Fiat owned brand launch as well as new cars. However, it is said that Fiat will stick to its two cars as far as its own lineup is concerned and it will be launching new variants of the two cars – Punto and Linea.
Thus Fiat is going to stiffen competition in the premium SUV market in the country with the Jeep Wrangler which will be the more rugged looking car and the more refined and urbane looking Grand Cherokee. Where the Wrangler is expected to have a start price of Rs 20 lakh, the Cherokee will be placed somewhere in the Rs 30 lakh to Rs 32 lakh price segment.
