Fire at Tata Nano’s Production Unit in Sanand

It is reported that fire broke out at Tata’s manufacturing plant located in Sanand, Gujarat where company produces its small hatchback Nano. According reports 12 fire brigades are struggling to control the fire. The sources of company said that there has been not any major damage to the premises and fire has also been taken into control. The incidence of fire took at vendor park at M/S Supreme Treves, that supplies trim parts for Nano. The Sanand manufacturing plant was constructed in 2010 and is been exclusively used for manufacturing of Nano.

Expanded in area of 725 acres the Sanand plant has production efficiency of 2,50, 000 and can be extended up-to 3,50, 000 units annually. Interestingly along with Nano, recently domestic car maker also initiated the production of its newly introduced hatchback Tiago also at the same plant. According to sources of company it is also planning to begin the production of its proposed compact sedan codenamed as Kite 5 also from same production unit.
