First Electric Vehicle From Hyundai To Debut Next Year

Although still there are twelve years to go for making the country completely running on electric vehicles, the car makers within the country have started making their preparations for same. Following the same trend Korean car maker Hyundai Motors has revealed its plan to make its debut in the segment. According to the sources of company it will launch its first electric in the Indian car market sometimes during the next year.

It is reported that the Korean car maker is going to make an investment of Rs. 6,300 crore for the development of its new product line in India and establishing its offices in Gurugram and New Delhi. The first electric vehicle to be introduced by the car maker might be Kona SUV or Ioniq sedan. It is reported that at present the car maker is conducting the research to study the taste of Indian buyers to know that which electric vehicle will help in strengthening its roots in the segment. On the other side company is also waiting for the government to clarify its policy over electric vehicles in India after which keeping the target of electric mobility in the country by 2030 the car maker will go for electrifying 40% of its existing portfolio.

Well the future strategy of company mainly depends upon the clearance of government’s policy it would be interested to know that the first electric vehicle which the car maker is going to launch next year, will it be manufactured in India or bought through completely knocked down route and assembled at its production unit in Chennai.
 
Speaking about company fleet of electric vehicles the authentic sources from the company said, “Our first EV in India will be launched next year. At the moment we are yet to finalize whether it will be the Ionig EV sedan or the fully electric version of Kona SUV.
