Ford Fusion replacement Ford B Max MPV could head to India

Ford B Max, a five seater MPV which is scheduled for a launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March is expected to be launched in India as well soon after. The five doors Ford MPV will be replacing Ford Fusion that is recently not getting much response from car buyers and thus is need of a dire replacement. With the Ford B Max MPV in, Ford’s line up for India will bulge to eight cars and it will be the first Ford MPV in India. The Ford B Max is expected to be launched in India this year after a Europe debut. B Max price is expected to remain around Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh and is expected to be launched in India sometime next year.

The B Max will be creating much abuzz in India from Ford’s side similar to the Ford Ecosport compact SUV launched at the Auto Expo had created already. The B Max launch in India is a part of Ford’s expansion plans worldwide as well as India till 2015 and it will be a just over four meter car worldwide. However, the India version could be a little shortened and Ford could launch its under four meter version in India.

Another striking feature of the B Max is its structure design. The Ford B Max is designed to have no pillars and the rear doors will be sliding ones. Besides the Ford B Max also confirms to the strictest of the Euro NCAP safety norms. Being an MPV, the B Max has much boot space that can be extended with the rear seats folded.

On the engine department, Ford B Max will be available in petrol and diesel options. The petrol car will sport Ford’s iconic 1L EcoBoost engine that will also be available in the Ford Ecosport. The engine can produce 118 bhp of power. The diesel motor on the other hand will be a 90 bhp 1,5L Duratorq engine which is high on performance and mileage as well. Notably, the B Max will have the same diesel engine that powers the Ford Fiesta sedan in India.
