Ford India registers 11 percent surge in sales in November

The Indian subsidiary of the US based leading car maker Ford Motors has registered a sales surge of 11 percent in the month of November 2011. The company sold a total of 8,322 units of its car during this month as compared to 7,504 units sold in the same month last year.

While commenting on the company’s performance, Mr. Michale Boneham, president and managing director at Ford India, said that the company is nearing the end of a positive year where it continues to see strong customer acceptance of its brands and the company is selling more despite challenging market conditions.

The company’s exports stood at 1,769 units during the month, with addition of three new exports markets including Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia. With the addition of these new exporting destinations, the company list of total markets where it dispatches cars from Indian market has reached to 30 countries. In a statement, Mr. Boneham said that it is great to see the compact hatchback Ford Figo exported to 30 international markets.

Meanwhile, the company is all set to showcase a range of its new car models along with new concepts at the Delhi International Auto Expo in the month of January 2012.

The current India portfolio of the Ford India include hatchback Ford Figo, sedans like Ford Ikon and Ford Fiesta, and compact luxury sports utility vehicle Ford Endeavour.
