US based car maker Ford has launched the Sports Edition of its hatchback Figo and compact sedan Aspire in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 6.31 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs.  7.21 lakh for diesel variant and Rs. 6.50 lakh for petrol trim and Rs. 7.60 lakh for diesel trim, respectively.

 

 

Under the hood both cars continue the same existing engine configurations of 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engine. The petrol engine boosts the power of 87 bhp and torque of 113Nm while diesel generates the power of 99 bhp and torque of 215Nm. Both the engines are mated with five speed manual gearbox transmission system.  Apart from this there is also 1.5 litre petrol engine offered in both the cars which generates the power of 110 bhp and mated with automatic Dual Clutch Transmission system, but that is not introduced in the Sports Edition. According to sources of company the Sports Edition is enriched with improved suspension system that is designed to offer improved driving experience.

 

 

Talking about the cosmetic updates the Figo receives black interiors, red stitching treatment over the seat upholstery while the Aspire receives fog grey stitching. Along with this it also sports MyFordDock that supports connectivity with USB and navigation system. The Sports Edition also gets ABS+EBD, dual airbags as standard feature. The Sports Edition of both these cars are offered in seven passionate colors including Oxford White Tuxedo Black, Ruby Red, Sparkling Gold, Impact Blue, Ingot Silver and Smoke Grey.
