Game-Changing Features: Maruti Suzuki Jimny V/S Mahindra Thar
The Maruti Suzuki Jimny is one of the most highly awaited SUVs in the car market. It is promoted as the strong contender of the best-selling SUV Mahindra Thar. With Jimny, the Indo-Japanese carmaker wants to break the dominance of Thar, and not leave any stone unturned in making its SUV a bigger hit.
With only a few days left in the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny, expected to debut on June 7, 2023, let us have a look at features that could change the game of Mahindra Thar’s supremacy in the Indian car market.
Automatic Climate Control: Although both SUVs are equipped with air conditioners, taking a step ahead, Maruti has embellished Jimny with an automatic climate control feature. The availability of this feature will enhance the driving experience of buyers in urban areas, as they can set the temperature and fan speed according to their convenience.
Electronic ORVMs: As Jimny is developed keeping in driving needs of urban buyers, the presence of this feature is no less than a boon while driving in congested areas. Although Thar gets the same feature, but to retract the ORVMs, you need to do it manually. Jimny allows you to perform the same action electrically.
Headlamp Washers: It is one of the most notable features differentiating Jimny from Thar. The presence of this feature will allow the buyers to clean the headlights of their SUV by simply pulling the wiper stalk and voila. The owner doesn’t need to come out from his SUV to clean the headlights.
Large Infotainment System: Despite having a touchscreen infotainment system in both SUVs, Jimny has a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, bigger than Thar. The same infotainment system is also offered in Grand Vitara and Brezza sold under the flagship of MSIL Thar has a smaller seven-inch infotainment system.
LED Headlights: The top-end trim of the Jimny Alpha comes equipped with LED DRLs. These DRLs are aimed to offer clear visibility during the night.
Final Verdict: These are five features where Jimny has the possibility of challenging the Thar. However, both SUVs have their pros and cons. It would be interesting to see a cat war between both of them.
