General Motors joins the group of companies hiking prices of their vehicles
Following the blind race of hiking prices from coming year by all major car manufacturing companies, today General Motors India also joined the group by announcing to hike the prices of all vehicles sold under its flagship from January 1, 2014. According to sources of company the hike in prices will be up-to Rs. 10,000. Like other car makers General Motors also mentioned the increasing cost of production as the main reason behind the decision of hiking prices. As reported earlier all major companies including BMW, MSIL, HMIL, Honda Motors, Mercedes Benz and Audi have announced the hike in price of their vehicles.
At present General Motors is selling Chevrolet Spark, Beat, Sail U-VA, Sail, Cruze, Enjoy, Tavera and the Captiva under its hood. In words of Mr. P. Balendran, Vice-President, General Motors said that company has decided to increase the prices of all its products up to Rs. 10,000 from January which is mainly due to increasing cost of raw materials used for production.
