Generation next Toyota Innova caught testing, launching next year
The next generation Toyota Innova was spied testing on Bangalore roads with various exterior tweaks. It is expected to make its entry in Indian car market sometimes during the next financial year 2015-16. According to reports received from spies the Innova would go major cosmetic surgery in form of refreshed front fascia including new grille and tail lights on the rear portion. The new Innova would be developed on company’s Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform which is also used in its sibling the generation next Fortuner.

The working of TNGA platform is similar to MQB platform used by German car maker Volkswagen in its new products. It would be interested to learn that apart from newly developed spacious interiors the brigade of diesel engines offered in new Innova would also be offered with automatic transmission system. The features which would be further carried to new Innova from existing version of Innova would be dual airbags, reverse camera, multifunctional steering wheel and climate control.
After launch the new Innova would compete against Ertiga from MSIL, Enjoy from Chevrolet, Evalia from Nissan, upcoming Honda Mobilio, Renault Lodgy and Datsun Go Plus. It is speculated to be offered with competitive price falling between Rs. 9 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh.
