HMIL Rolls Out its Seventh Million Vehicle
It was almost eighteen years back in 1998 when Korean car maker Hyundai Motors stepped in Indian car market through its Indian alliance Hyundai Motors India Limited and introduced fleet of remarkable vehicles in Indian car market. During this journey of 18 years the Korean car maker established various milestones which helped the car maker in emerging as leading car exporter and second largest car manufacturer in country. Now, once again on Monday November 21, 2016 HMIL set one more milestone in its history by rolling out its seven millionth vehicle in form of top variant of its first ever compact SUV Creta from its production unit located at Sriperumpudur near Chennai.

The first millionth vehicle rolled by company was it’s the then best selling hatchback Santro in 2006, after which company geared up its production efficiency and rolled out its five millionth vehicle in October 2013. Not only this from 1994 the car maker has exported more than 24 lakh units of its vehicle in overseas market. It is also reported that now the company is planning to re-introduce the Made in India Version of its phased out hatchback Santro back in Indian car market sometimes during the early months of 2018. It is also reported that this made in India version of Santro will be sold across the world and for this company has made an investment of Rs 1,000 crore to establish its research and development centre in Hyderabad. Commenting on the rolling out seven millionth vehicle by company HMIL Managing Director and CEO Y.K. Koo said, “HMIL has always set new benchmarks in terms of quality and customer delight by introducing new products with new technology and design to the Indian market, demonstrating superior manufacturing prowess,”.
Moving ahead Mr. Koo said, that products manufactured in India by company have succeed in impressing global and Indian customers equally and now the time has come out when company needs to focus on its vision that was discussed during its 20th foundation day on May 6, 2016. According to Mr. Koo now the next target of company apart from strengthening and retaining its existing position in Indian car market is also to touch the mark of selling 10 million units by the first half of 2021.
