Honda calls its Urban SUV as Honda CR-U
With only couple days left in inaugural of Tokyo Motor Show all major auto companies have started giving final shape to their preparations for the show. It is reported that Japanese auto giant Honda Motors will showcase Honda Urban SUV codenamed as CR-U during the show. The same model is expected to be soon launched in Indian car market to compete with recently launched and highly acclaimed SUV’s like Renault Duster, XUV 500 from Mahindra, EcoSport from Ford and various other existing SUV’s.
It is reported that Honda Urban SUV will be launched in both petrol and diesel which will be carried from its other sibling Honda City and Honda Amaze. The petrol variant will be enriched with 1.5 litre i-VTEC engine integrated in Honda City and the diesel variant will be equipped with 1.5 litre i-DTEC engine that is mounted in Honda Amaze.
The other mechanical features which are assimilated in this SUV are reported to be similar to Honda Fit (Jazz) which is under production at present. As far as its design is concerned it carries sloping roofline and few features which are similar to Honda CR-V, except the brake lights which have now been given a new look. It is speculated that Japanese auto maker will launch this SUV soon in Indian car market, more specifically after the launch of new Honda City.
