Honda Car sales in May 2013 driven by Amaze
Honda Cars India, 100 per cent subsidiary of Japan based Honda Motor Company, has reported the sales figures for the month of May 2013. The company posted a growth of 9.8 per cent at 11, 342 units in May this year against the total sales of 10, 334 units in same month of year 2012. After the launch of global compact sedan, Honda Amaze in India the company is reporting very good growth in sales month by month.

Honda Amaze is the most popular compact sedan by Honda which is being offered with both petrol and diesel options. At present, in domestic auto market it is giving rigid competition to Maruti Swift Dzire, Chevrolet Sail, Toyota Etios and Mahindra Verito. In the month of May this year the company sold 6036 units of this flagship model while the sales of the new Honda Brio were stood at 2012 units in the last month.

Honda's other have also done well in May 2012. It sold 3202 units of the popular sedan City, 24 units of the premium sedan Accord and 68 units of the luxury SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) CR-V. The company exported a total of 738 Honda cars in last month. Overall, the Japanese car maker has shown very good performance in last month. And now it is ready to dive into the compact MPV segment by near future with launch of a Brio based MPV. It has also plans to launch a diesel variant for City sedan by next year.
