Honda diesel engine to be displayed at Geneva could power, Honda cars in India
The Geneva Motor Show is undoubtedly the summer of auto industry worldwide. Car makers make a beeline in order to showcase their finest of the offerings. Japanese car maker Honda joining the race will be displaying the Honda’s NSX Concept, new 1.6 diesel engine and Jazz variants at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. It is quite possible that the Honda cars in India are till now petrol driven will see the same diesel engine under the hood. Similarly, Honda could also launch the new variants of Jazz in India.

India has seen the vigor and liveliness of the Auto Expo and similar is the case with Geneva Motor Show. Equally, cars that will be showcased at the Show have greater chances of being launched in India as well because India is a growing market as still the per capita car ratio is far less than the West.

At the Show Honda will unveil the NSX Concept which is a supercar is hoped to add the missing adrenaline to the Honda line up. however, the till now petrol driven Honda cars in India such as Honda CR-V, Honda City, Honda Accord and small car Honda Brio are all expected to get the diesel driven models. Where this will help increase sale of Honda cars, it will also help the Japanese car maker to compete with other car makers that have already their diesel offerings in place. The Honda Diesel engine is part of Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology and is an entirely designed from scratch engine. Performance and low emission is what the new Honda diesel engine promises. The diesel engine will be of 1.6L 118bhp and is reportedly the lightest engine in the series. Honda proposes that the engine will emit only 100kg/km of CO2 and will be an environment friendly engine.

The upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March will also see the European edition of the Honda SUV CR-V. besides there will also be the two new variants of Jazz one of them the Jazz Si will go on sale in May June this year.
