Honda Mobilio: Automatic Transmission System not to be offered in India

Those who are keenly waiting for Japanese auto giant Honda Motors to launch it’s highly acclaimed MPV Mobilio in Indian car market, this news might be disappointing. According to Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India Limited company will not be offering automatic transmission system in version of Mobilio MPV launched in Indian car market.  The reason behind this is that company feels that Mobilio would be sold to specific segment of customers and therefore it would not be worthy introduce automatic transmission system in Mobilio at the beginning.

Company has recently initiated the production of MPV at its production unit at Greater Noida and is expected to launch the vehicle between July and September this year. Although still the exact date of launching has not yet be confirmed by company sources, but it is speculated that this festive season company will offer the MPV to its prospective customers.

Disclosing other facts associated with Honda Mobilio Mr. Sen that 90 percent of Mobilio would be locally manufactured enabling the company to offer this MPV at competitive price. The MPV would be seven seater and would compete against existing MPVs like Ertiga from MSIL and Innova from Toyota. In the words of Mr. Sen, the plus factor associated with Mobilio would be spacious cabin which will offer more comfortable traveling experience to the travelers.
