Honda Mobilio debuts in Indian car market with price tag of Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom price)
Finally the wait of more about seven months came to an end today with launch of Honda’s highly awaited and speculated MPV Mobilio in Indian car market with starting price of Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom price in New Delhi). The MPV has been launched in both petrol and diesel trims in E, S , V followed by high end RS additional variant in diesel trim. The engines in both trims have been carried from its sibling new Honda City. The petrol version of is enriched with 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine boosting the power of 117 bhp and torque of 145 Nm and is claimed to deliver an average of 17.9 kmpl. On the other side diesel trim is empowered with 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine, churning the power of 98 bhp and torque of 200 Nm, it is said to deliver an average of 24.2 kmpl. The deliveries of MPV will start from September 2014.
The major features adorned in MPV includes steering mounted controls, ABS, roof mounted AC vents for rear passengers, digital and analogue instrument control. Slide and recline seats for first and second passengers, projector headlamps and with LEDs. All these features are offered in top end RS variant in diesel trim. It would be interested to know that company has equipped the diesel variant with ABS+EBD as standard features while the E variant in petrol trim is not blessed with this standard feature.
Variant wise features offered in different variants of Mobilio can be understood in following manner, E variant is blessed with reclining seats for second and third row passengers, tilt adjustable steering wheel and manual air conditioner, the mid-sized variant receives rear air conditioner vents for rear passengers, 2 DIN music system, rear defogger, body colored ORVM, keyless entry and driver seat height adjuster, the top variant V embellishes 10 spoke alloy wheels, driver and passenger front airbags, 2nd row sliding seat, front fog lamps, two tone interiors, arm rest for second row passengers, security alarm, and rear wiper.
