Honda Motors to explore its workforce

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) the Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto giant is reported to explore the fleet of its workforce to get engaged in work of second shift of production. According to reports company is going to appoint 1000 new workers to work in second shift by the end of this financial year. According to reports revealed by company it is speculating to sale out 2,00,000 units of its products during the financial year 2014-15. If HCIL achieves this objective it means 50% increase in its sales and therefore company is looking to explore its work force.

The current strength of Honda Motors at its two production units located at Tapukara and Greater Noida is about 9000. This figure includes both direct and indirect employees of HCIL. From the 3000 workers working at its recently initiated production facility of Tapukara 2,200 are direct workers of company. All these workers in both shifts produce 1.2 lakh vehicles every year. It is reported that Japanese car maker is looking forward to sale 3,00,000 units of vehicles by 2016-17. As an impact of which apart from exploring their work force they will also revitalize their production facility at its production units.

In the words of Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, HCIL, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales, to begin the production in second shift at its production unit at Tapukara plant at Rajasthan company will require the additional work force of about 1000 people. It is reported that apart from exploring its work force company will also import the raw materials including engine parts and for this company is planning to make an investment of about Rs. 800 crore during the financial year 2014-15.
