Honda recalls Accord sold during last decade

Japanese car maker Honda Motors had rolled out its Accord sedan from Indian car market last year and showcased the next generation Accord during the Indian Auto Expo 2014. It is now reported that the car maker is going to recall about 7.6 million units of Accord sold in international market including Indian car market during the last decade.The recall of these units has been called due to faulty airbags which could not perform under specific conditions.

According to company sources this recall has been called on units of Accord manufactured during August 2000 to December 2005. In Indian car market the sedan made its debut in 2001 and continued till 2013. The new version of Accord is expected soon land in Indian car market.It is also reported that the problem associated with airbags also affected the Jazz hatchback and SUV CR-V. But these vehicles will be recalled only in international market and not in India. According to industry reports some major car makers are also planning to recall their vehicles due to same problem.
