The cars recalled were manufactured between September 2017 and June 2018, and are suspected to suffer from the potential issue of fuel pumps mated with defective impellers. According to the sources of Honda, as an impact of this defect, the engine can either stop or fail to stop. Honda has confirmed that all replacements will be done free of charge at Honda dealerships across India. The company will initiate the replacement of the defective pumps on November 5, 2024. Honda will notify affected vehicle owners individually.

Customers are also advised to check if their vehicle is part of the recall by entering their 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Honda’s official website. Additionally, those who purchased fuel pump assemblies from Honda dealerships between June 2017 and October 2023 are encouraged to have their vehicles inspected at authorized Honda centres. Automakers globally continue to use recalls as a proactive measure to address vehicle defects, promoting both safety and accountability among manufacturers.
