Honda to launch small car next year!

We have heard of Renault – Nissan – Bajaj Ultra low cost car, we have been hearing about Maruti Cervo, and the latest buzz is from Japanese car maker Honda. It is reportedly known that Honda is making a small car to take on Tata Nano and Maruti Alto. As per the details available, the Honda small car will have a 660 cc engine that will produce 64 hp power and will be powered by petrol. Though there is no price related information as of yet but the new Honda car is expected to have a price between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh if it really is targeting Nano or Alto.

The ultra small car is expected to cater to only urban needs but being offered in petrol variant means it will be Honda’s another attempt to sell petrol cars when every car maker is selling diesel car like hot cakes. Based on the Honda N600 concept car, the new car small car by Honda will have smaller proportions and will be lightweight as well. The small car by Honda is believed to take on the Indian car maker by storm as an ultra low cost car is still a dream. In fact, the country has seen Maruti 800 as its small car and thus even Tata Nano seems to fit with difficulty in the vision.

Stunning exterior appearance will be there on the Honda small car as it will have a more like Skoda Yeti or say BMW Mini Cooper kind of looks in smaller proportions. A homeland launch of this small car is expected to be next year and India launch in all probability will be in 2014. The Honda small car price is still a guesswork and it seems that by that time, the start price of cars in India will shift to Rs 2 lakh minimum.
