Honda Updates Its Entire Range With New Safety Features
Honda Cars India has recently upgraded its entire range of cars with additional safety features across its entire lineup including the City, City Hybrid, Amaze, and the Elevate mid-sized SUV. Now both City and Elevate come equipped with six airbags, seat belt reminders for all five seats, and the implementation of 3-point emergency locking retractor (ELR seat belts) as standard in both the Honda Elevate and City sedan.
Moreover, the Honda Elevate now boasts adjustable head restraints for all passengers, along with driver and co-driver vanity mirrors. Additionally, a digi-analogue instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT Display has been integrated into the Elevate, while the City sedan base variant receives a new 4.2-inch TFT display for the instrument console. Moving ahead, to further offer an improved driving experience, the VX mid-trim of the City is now equipped with an 8-speaker premium sound system and a rear sunshade.
However, with the introduction of these new features, the Indian alliance of Japanese carmaker has hiked the prices of both the City and Elevate. The Elevate SUV now falls within the price range of Rs 11.91 lakh to Rs 16.43 lakh, with the base variant witnessing a nominal increase of Rs 22,000. Similarly, the City sedan is now priced between Rs 12.08 lakh and Rs 16.35 lakh, compared to its previous range of Rs 11.82 lakh to Rs 16.30 lakh.
Under the hood, both the Honda City and Elevate are powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, delivering 121bhp and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
Furthermore, the Honda City e: HEV is now exclusively available in a single range-topping ZX variant, priced at Rs 20.55 lakh. In a strategic move, Honda has discontinued the entry-level E variant of the Amaze sedan, which is now priced between Rs 7.93 lakh and Rs 9.86 lakh. Notably, both models now come fitted with seat belt reminders for all five seats. The City hybrid variant is equipped with a robust 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine, offering a combined power output of 126bhp, while the Amaze is powered by a 90bhp, 110Nm, 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
