Honda working on cross-over to be named as WR-V

After enjoying taste of substantial success during last couple of years Japanese car maker Honda Motors is working its first ever crossover to be named as WR-V sometimes during next year in Indian car market. Developed on the platform used on Jazz hatchback the prototype of crossover has been already caught under test drives on the roads of South America completely under covers.  Codenamed as 2FM the crossover will be showcased during the upcoming Sao Paolo Motor Show 2016 to be held in November 2016 at Brazil.

Under the hood WR-V will be boosted with same 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine and 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine boosting the power of 90 bhp and 100 bhp respectively followed by torque of 110Nm and 200Nm developed by both engines. The engine configurations in both variants are similar to offered in Jazz, Amaze and Brio. According to reports apart from this cross-over Japanese car maker is also working to launch BR-V, SUV by the end of May this year in Indian car market. Prior to this car maker had showcased the SUV during Indian Auto Expo 2016. It is reported that company is going to commence the production of WR-V crossover from the month of December this year and after launch in Indian car market it will compete against Fiat Avventura, Toyota Etios Cross, Hyundai i20 Active and Volkswagen Cross Polo.
