Honda’s crossover based on Jazz to unveil this year

It is rumored that Japanese car maker Honda is going to unveil its first ever crossover to be christened as WR-V at Sao Paolo Motor Show 2016 to be held in November 2016 at Brazil. Developed on generation next Jazz hatchback, the proposed cross-over was caught under lenses on South American roads. According to reports the images leaked by spies the cross-over carries almost same looks as offered in Jazz and give an impression of hatchback produced in a cross-over format.

Mechanically the cross-over will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants comprising of 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine outsourced from Brio hatchback and 1.5 litre i-DTEC diesel engine carried from sedan City and compact SUV Mobilio. As far as transmission system is concerned the petrol variant will be offered with option of five speed manual and CVT gearbox transmission system, while diesel variant will be mated with six speed manual gear transmission system.

As reported earlier by us, Honda had been working on a crossover codenamed as WR-V in recent times, speculated to be launched in Indian car market sometimes during next year after its global launch. Industry experts believe that launch of one more crossover will fire the automobile industry across the world with all major car makers debuting in this segment. After launch the WR-V crossover will compete against Fiat Avventura, Toyota Etios Cross and Hyundai i20 Active.
