Hyundai BA launch in India could threat Swift, Polo and Fabia
Hyundai BA is the next new launching car in India by country's largest car exporter and second largest carmaker, Hyundai Motors India Limited. The new developed car model BA is a hatchback car that will take position between Hyundai i10 and i20 in domestic auto market in terms of pricing, features and specifications. The new Hyundai small car would be offered with another name but right now it has been code named as the 'BA' and reported to be offered with both petrol and diesel models.
Yet, the company has not announced about the Hyundai BA price range for Indian market but it would be offered between Rs 4.50 lakh to Rs 6.50 lakh (Ex-showroom). On the bases of dimensions and features it will be bigger and better than i10 and very similar to the i20. It is expected that Korean auto major will launch this new Hyundai small car in domestic market to eat the market shares of Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo, Skoda Fabia and Ford which are dominating the segment.
The petrol fuel run trim of the BA hatchback would have a 1.2L petrol engine under hood while the diesel trim would be loaded with a variable geometry turbocharger, 1.1 Liter diesel engine from next generation version of the i20 which is expected to produce max power of 75 Bhp and top torque of 150 Nm. The fuel efficiency of both, petrol and diesel engined models will also be impressive. On the other hand, Hyundai has also developed the next generation version of i10 which is reported to be introduced as "Brilliant" in overseas markets while during the festive season, Indian customers could get it as the 2013 i10.
