Hyundai confirms the launch of Tucson in October 2016
After successful launch of generation next Elantra recently in Indian car market, Hyundai Motors India Limited the Indian arm of Korean car maker Hyundai Motors has confirmed the launch of Tucson SUV sometimes during the month of October this year. According to company sources the SUV will bridge the gap between Creta and Sante Fe and compete against Honda CR-V and Skoda Yeti. Prior to this the vehicle was showcased by the car maker during Indian Auto Expo 2016 held during the month of February.

In Indian car market the Tucson will be offered in both petrol and diesel variants which would be empowered with 1.6 litre petrol and 2.0 litre diesel engine configurations and mated with both manual and automatic transmission system depending upon the variant preferred by buyer. The version of Tucson offered in International car maker is offered with option of four wheel drive and it is speculated that company will also offer the same driving option also in its India bound version. According to company sources the Tucson SUV will brought through completely knocked door (CKD) route and fifty percent of its production will be localized so as to keep its price competitive according Indian scenario. It is expected to be offered in the price range of Rs. 16 lakh to Rs. 18 lakh.

The proposed version of Tucson is miles ahead from its first generation version which was earlier sold in Indian car market. The new Tucson is developed on company Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy and has been captured being tested on Indian roads on various occasions. On the exterior it receives projector headlamps with LED tail lights, panaromic sunroof, LED DRLs, and electronic tailgate. Inside the cabin it is expected to be equipped with touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted controls, navigation system and automatic climate control etc.
