Hyundai grabs ‘Top exporter of the year’ Award for 2011-12

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the second largest car manufacturer and largest exporter of cars in country has been honored with Top Exporter Award of the Year for 2011-12 by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPIC) India. The Honorable Minister of Industries and Information Technology, Kerala Mr. P.K. Kunhalikutty, presented the Golden Trophy to senior management of HMIL.
 
HMIL started exporting its cars from 1999 and become the first company in Indian car market to export its 1,000,000th car in February 2010 and with this it grabbed the first position of manufacturing cars at fast speed within the record period. It would be interested to know that since 2004 it has been the top exporter of cars. Its contribution in Indian Automobile Industry has been 48%. In current scenario when Indian car market is noticing decline in sales, in such adverse situation HMIL has succeeded in exporting 250,005 cars in market of Latin America, Middle East, European countries and African continent.
 
Expressing his thanks on receipt of this prestigious award Mr. B.S. Seo, MD & CEO, HMIL said that company is honored and overwhelmed on receiving this award from EEPC India. According to him this award is enough to express success story of Hyundai in global market. He also extended his thanks to customers and everyone who has contributed in helping company to reach this milestone. At present HMIL exports its products to 125 countries of world including EU, Africa, Middle East, Latin America, Australia and the Asia Pacific. It is exporting 40% of its actual production to abroad.
