Korean car maker Hyundai Motors after successful launch of Hyundai Elite i20, has launched the crossover version of the hatchback named as i20 Active. The i20 Active has been offered with starting price tag of Rs. 6.38 lakh (ex-showroom price, New Delhi). Offered in both petrol and diesel disguises of 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre, Active i20 would be available in overall five trims of two in petrol version and three in diesel version. 

 

 

Expert Review of Hyundai I20 Active

 

The petrol trim is energized with 1.2 litre kappa four cylinder engine generating the power of 83 bhp and torque of 113 Nm and offered with five speed manual gear transmission system. The diesel trim is offered with 1.4 litre CRDi diesel engine boosting the power 89 bhp and torque of 219 Nm and mated with six speed manual gear transmission system.Although physically the i20 Active continues the Fluidic version 2.0 concept but with an objective to give it more aggressive look the crossover has been embellished with abundance of plastic work. 

 

 

As the crossover has been developed on the same platform as used in Elite i20 hatchback and therefore it carries most of its cues from it.  But still it bestows various features which make it look different from its sibling, these features include trapezoidal grille at front, newly developed bumper and projector headlamps and LED DRLs. On the rear portion it receives new black colored bumper, but continues the same tail gate and tail lamps. The side profile bestows roof rails, side skirts, diamond cut alloy wheels. Inside the cabin it continues the same interior features except the upholstery.

• Hyundai i20 Active 1.4 S Diesel: Rs 8.34 lakh 

• Hyundai i20 Active 1.4 SX Diesel: Rs 8.89 lakh
