Hyundai India Cars To Come With 6 Airbags
Hyundai India is taking significant steps to enhance the safety of its mobility solutions. They have recently declared that all their car models will now come equipped with six airbags as a standard feature, irrespective of the variant. Additionally, they are making essential safety features, such as three-point seatbelts and seat belt reminders for all seats, standard across their entire lineup of 13 models and their respective variants available in India.
Furthermore, Hyundai is going the extra mile by offering Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC) as standard features in ten out of their 13 models, regardless of the variant. For added safety, they also provide an Advanced Driver Aids System (ADAS) in five of their models. In their safety journey for 2023, Hyundai achieved a significant milestone with the latest Verna model receiving a coveted five-star safety rating in the global NCAP crash test. This achievement can be attributed to a comprehensive suite of both active and passive safety features, complemented by a robust body structure.
The Verna's body shell has been reinforced, with increased thickness in the side reinforcements and additional material in the centre and front floor applications. Moreover, in addition to the six airbags, the Verna boasts over 30 standard safety features, and a remarkable total of 65 safety features, including Level 2 ADAS.
With its recent 5-star safety rating from GNCAP, the Verna proudly establishes itself as the safest sedan in its segment. Unsoo Kim, the Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) expressed their commitment to elevating vehicular safety standards in India, making the nation's roads safer for all. The company also welcomed the Bharat NCAP crash tests, recently introduced by the Indian government. Hyundai voluntarily participates in this crash test program, commencing with three models and a promise of more to follow. This indigenous car crash test program, set to be enforced this month, aims to enhance road safety and elevate car standards across the country.
