Hyundai Ioniq 5 Revealed For India, Bookings Initiated
The Korean car maker Hyundai Motors has finally unveiled its global crossover Ioniq 5 for the Indian car market. The company has also initiated its bookings immediately at the down payment of Rs 1 lakh. The crossover is developed on the new E-GMP platform and is the second electric product by the car maker in India, after the compact SUV Kona. The Ioniq 5 will be launched during the Indian Auto Expo 2023.

Under the hood, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will come with a 72.6 kWh battery pack placed between the front and rear wheel axles. It is reported to deliver an ARAI-certified average of 631 km on a single charge. The battery will generate a power of 215 bhp and a torque of 350Nm. The global version of Ioniq 5 is available with three engine powertrains. The version with a rear-wheel drive option is available with a 125 kW motor and a battery of 58 kWh. It generates a power of 168 bhp and a torque of 350Nm. This version delivers an average of 384 km. The second version has a battery pack of 72.6 kWh. This generates a power of 215 bhp and offers an average of 480 km. The top-end all-wheel drive version has two motors delivering a power of 235-300 bhp and generating a torque of 605 Nm.
Speaking about the E-GMP platform, according to the sources of the company, the new platform is designed to offer an improved driving experience along with enhanced performance while driving at high speeds. It is developed by maintaining optimal weight distribution between the front and rear axles.
The crossover has succeeded in winning the World Car of the Year 2022 and also won the 2022 World Car Design. It also received the award of the best electric car of 2022 under the new category of 2022 World Electric Vehicle. The Ioniq 5 is the best combination of retro-futuristic looks and embellishes the features like connectivity and new technical features.
